As the summer slows to an end for many, take a break from your busy schedule and enjoy the warm weather before it’s too late. August is a perfect month to slip in that last family vacation, and there’s no better place to do it than South Western Colorado. Various festivals and outings are taking place in the month of August, all within easy reach from our resort here at the Chipeta. Our restaurant the Four Corner’s Cafe is still having live music on our rooftop deck sky-bar every Wednesday and Friday evening from 6:00PM-9:00PM. Telluride Jazz Festival takes place on the first weekend in August, followed by Telluride Chamber Music Festival on August 9th-August 19th. Both of these are not-to-be-missed musical events, both creating a spontaneous connection between audience and musicians that lifts the human spirit. Also on the weekend of August 11th-12th is the Ridgway Arts & Crafts Rendezvous Festival, located in downtown Ridgway, Colorado. Known as one of the most picturesque locations for artisans as well as shoppers, this show boasts very successful sales for the 140 vendors. Also happening during the month of August is the very unique Telluride Mushroom Festival, the Rock & Roll Festival, Telluride Festival of the Arts, Full Tilt in Telluride, and the USA Pro Cycling Challenge.
