Hot Springs

Hot Springs abound in this Uncompagre Valley and Southwest region of the state of Colorado. The Ute Indians had their last encampment  here in the valley of their scacred Hot Springs .  Some are public and many are private or within lodging establishments.  Wether clothing or clothing optional, you will find a great place to soak in the incomparable beauty of the San Juan Mountains.

Trimble Hot Springs

Located between Durango and Silverton. In 1884, Frank Trimble and his wife Rufina settled at the springs. Trimble, who suffered from rhueumatism and old wounds from Oregon Indian wars, began bathing in the springs. He soon claimed himself to be pain-free. He built a way station and boarding house at the springs and, as word of the healing qualities of the springs spread quickly, he prospered.
