It’s almost that time of year again, when Mother Nature embraces us with one of the most beautiful seasons in the San Juan Mountains! Summer is beginning to slow, and the leafs are beginning to glow! Fall approaches us quickly as the sun starts setting earlier, the days get shorter, and the nights get colder. The crisp air of autumn is beginning to strike, and it’s time to take part in those outdoor activities while you still can. September is a busy month on the Western slope with many festivities to be offered. The ever so popular outdoor music venue, the 19th Annual Telluride Blues & Brews Festival, takes place on September 14th-16th in the heart of charming Telluride, Colorado. The breathtaking mountain tops provide for a remarkable backdrop, not to mention the scenic drive over Dallas Divide which leads you to Telluride, a must see when the fall colors begin to peak. Also happening in September is the Colorado Mountain Winefest, the Imogene Pass Run, and the Ouray County Railroad days. We are also still having live music every Wednesday and Friday on our rooftop deck skybar here at the Chipeta Solar Springs Resort, along with live music every Saturday featuring the local and talented Steve Felberg! Come out and enjoy the view before fall escapes us too, while treating yourself to a taste of our local wines or your favorite cocktail. Also the Farmers Markets are still an attractive event this fall, both Ridgway and Telluride Markets continuing throughout mid-October. Come graze through locally grown fruits and vegetables and pick out a handmade piece of art for your loved one. Enjoy the season change and make the beautiful drive up to our area for an unforgettable fall experience!
