Telluride, CO

The 8th annual CoolSculptUSA snow sculpting competition was held this past weekend in Mountain Village, Colorado. The sculptors came out and endured the cold days and nights to reach their deadline on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The sculptures show true artist creativity and fantastic works of the imagination, with such ideas created as a young child screaming while sledding and an armored polar bear king, all made out of huge 8 square foot cubes of snow. And to top off the end of the snow sculpting festival, Telluride received 10 inches of fresh snow for the spectators to enjoy. This is one of the great opportunities that you can enjoy when using your ski package with us here at the Chipeta Solar Springs Resort, or a day trip with your family or loved one to Telluride, Colorado. Only 38 miles from our resort in Ridgway, the road has beautiful scenery and remains well maintained in the winter. Ride the gondola from the town of Telluride and into the village, to enjoy more spectacular scenery and the skiing, restaurants, and activities that Mountain Village has to offer. Top your day off with an affordable burger and homemade ice cream from The Sweet Life, a shop that perfectly reflects the happy, relaxed and fun ambience of living in these amazing mountains.
