This summer season is all about the great outdoors and WOW is it breathtaking out there. July and August are exceptional months for wildflower viewing and this year is sizing up to deliver a rainbow of colors and varieties as “visual dessert”. Count on spectacular views of the San Juan and Cimarron Mountains. Off-road excursions and hiking are your best bet for taking in these natural wonders. Summer Activities in Ridgway
The town of Ridgway is a fun summer location with a variety of restaurants in the business district, a railroad museum, art galleries, clothing boutiques, river side bike trails, a picturesque reservoir complete with kayak rentals and a fabulous local farmers market located in the heart of town. Every Friday from May 22-Oct. 9, the Ridgway Farmer’s Market seduces foodies from 10am-3pm in Hartwell Park. Providing live music as an appetizer in its 20th year, this colorful community event features local fruits and vegetables, flowers, plants, sustainable meats, dairy products, baked goods, full meals, natural body care products, artisan crafts and more.
