Telluride Ski Resort is now open with two significant snowstorms under our belts before Thanksgiving and more in the forecast, snow sports are shaping up to have a powder filled winter season.
While the winter season will certainly look different during a pandemic, outdoor winter sports are considered to be one of the safest activities, due to your ability to stay outside, socially distance, and wear a mask (think that ski buff that you would normally wear anyway to keep our cheeks nice and toasty!)
And let’s not forget – Colorado is accustomed to nearly 300 days of sunshine with relatively mild temperatures and record snowfalls. Could there a better place to visit this winter when enjoying time in the great outdoors is such an important factor in staying safe and healthy?
Combining your winter ski vacation with a stay at Chipeta Solar Springs Resort will give you the best of all worlds when it comes to safe outdoor activities. Enjoy powdery, yet bluebird days on the ski mountain, with evenings spent in our thermal soaking pools, or your own private hot tub when you reserve a Deluxe Room or Locha Suite for your stay.
This winter season Chipeta Resort will be offering ski package add-ons to any reservation. Our Ski and Stay package offers lift tickets and local chocolate truffles, wine and roses upon arrival and our Winter Romance Destination Ski Package focuses on a romantic getaway experience by offering lift tickets, local chocolate truffles, wine and roses upon arrival, two 60 minute massages and two Chipeta embroidered robes.
Heading up the hill, Telluride Ski Resort has been on the forefront of creative ideas on how to keep guests safe throughout the winter season. While skiing and snowboarding and all other outdoor activities are deemed safe in the open fresh air, the post ski dining experience had to be somewhat reinvented. Enter your unique dining experience inside of a converted gondola car! New this year, 20 gondola cars have been refurbished into dining areas and situated around Mountain Village plaza for you and your family to enjoy a safe, self-contained lunch or apre ski experience. Currently, restaurants in town and on the mountain will still be open for take-away.
If skiing or snowboarding isn’t on your winter bucket list, other outdoor activities are readily available like ice skating in Mountain Village main plaza guided ice climbing adventures in Ouray, snowshoeing tours in Ouray or snowmobiling or snowcat tours . And of course, the warm soothing waters at nearby Orvis Hot Springs and Ouray Hot Springs are always a relaxing winter experience.
No matter where your adventures take you, the Chipeta Solar Springs Resort family wishes you a safe and healthy season this winter.
