Two Premier January Events
- San Juan Skijoring
Set for the weekend of Jan. 11-12, the 2020 San Juan Skijoring brings the unique sport of a horse and rider pulling a skier at breakneck speeds around a snow track.
Held at the Ouray County 4H Events Center & Fairgrounds in Ridgway, this action-packed competition is limited to skiers, snowboarders and riders (excluding Juniors) who are current Skijoring America Members.
- Ouray Ice Festival
From Jan. 23-26, the 25th Anniversary Ouray Ice Festival will draw a global field of pro and novice ice climbers. On Saturday and Sunday, hundreds of spectators line the top of the Gorge to ogle top ice and mixed talents climbing it out for the top prize.
The Ouray Ice Festival schedule also includes nearly 100 educational and interactive climbing clinics, plus vendors exhibiting apparel, gear and ice tools. Nightly action heats up with food, music, dance parties, multimedia presentations by top climbers, and both a live and silent auction.
