Trimble Hot Springs

Located between Durango and Silverton. In 1884, Frank Trimble and his wife Rufina settled at the springs. Trimble, who suffered from rhueumatism and old wounds from Oregon Indian wars, began bathing in the springs. He soon claimed himself to be pain-free. He built a way station and boarding house at the springs and, as word of the healing qualities of the springs spread quickly, he prospered.
